About The Clinic

Mountain biking is a fast growing sport around the world, and has deep roots right here in Garrett County as well! If you have been mountain bike curious, then this is the course for you!

Work with highly qualified Mountain Bike Coaches to learn the basics of riding on the trail. During this clinic, you will learn:

  • Basic bike set up and pre-ride checks
  • How to ride with stability and balance on mountain bike trails
  • How to use your bike controls to maximize enjoyment and risk awareness 
  • How to ride various types of singletrack terrain (terrain may include: dirt, gravel, asphalt, or grass trails and feature corners, rollers, berms, climbs, and descents)

Riders will receive coaching in various forms:

  • Direction control
  • Pressure control
  • Timing and Coordination

Prerequisites:

  • You must be able to ride a bike 

If you have a mountain bike, feel free to bring it! If not, you may use one of our mountain bikes! Helmets are required and can be provided for you.

Our highly qualified coaches are certified by the Global Syndicate of Mountain Bike Coaches (GSMBC). GSMBC is a certifying body with over 20 years of mountain bike coaching experience. 
Our highly qualified coaches are also certified by Stonehearth Open Learning Opportunities (SOLO). SOLO is a leading organization providing Wilderness Medicine certifications.
